Covid-19: Schools Not Resuming Anytime Soon – FG
The
Federal Government through the minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has condemned
all rumors concerning the resumption of schools.
Speaking
at the Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting yesterday, the Minister of
Education, Mallam Adamu stated that the rumors of 4th August should be ignored. The FEC meeting was presided over by the president Mohammadu Buhari himself.
Stating
that schools would not be opening for any school activity for now, he also
added that WAEC is not top determine when schools would open.
Everything
about schools remains on hold for now, until the Federal government seems it safe
and conducive to resume school activities.
He
added that the statement from the minister of state for education was
misunderstood by the press and journalists, schools are not resuming on the 4th
of August, not for examinations or any school’s activity.
“We will not open soon for examination or for any reason, unless it is safe for our children. WAEC will not determine for us what we do. Schools will remain closed.”
Schools
are to remain closed until, the Federal Government says otherwise, he
concluded.
