NADECO is a group formed by a group of Nigerian
democrats during the regime of Sani Abach, when he annulled the election of
Abiola when he won in the presidential election.
NADECO consists of many Nigerians who are
strong democrats and believe that development, peace and stability world only
come through true democracy.
The June 12, 1993 election is one many of these
democrats and Nigeria in general cannot forget in a hurry as it depicts the
true identity of the military ruling and the need for democracy.
Although most of the NADECO members are from
the southwest part of the country, many other regions are in full support of
the move of the group.
The National Democratic Coalition was formed on 15 May 1994 by a broad coalition of Nigerian democrats, who called on the military government of Sani Abacha to step down in favor of the winner of the 12 June 1993 election, M. K. O. Abiola. The members mostly came from the southwest of the country.
