EFCC's Magu In Trouble AS DSS Arrest Him For Interrogation In DSS Headquarter

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu has been arrested by the Department of State Service, DSS, over fraud and other allegations.

The arrest happened this afternoon at the EFCC office in Abuja, although the security men tried to stop the DSS, but were later overpowered by men of the DSS.

Magu has been accused of giving wrong figures of money recovered, making use of seized properties without permission from the authorities and many other charges.

This allegations were made by the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami. He had met with Buhari last two weeks to report the misconduct of the EFCC boss.

It is obvious that he ordered the arrest and interogation of the EFCC boss, after President Buhari kept silent over the report he had given him weeks ago.

Brief History of how MAgu came to become the EFCC acting chairman;

Ibrahim Magu was appointed to be the acting Chairman of the EFCC in the year 2015 by President Mohammadu Buhari after the later won the 2015 controversial presidential election when he contested under the umbrella of the All Progressive Congress.

Mgu was born on the 5th of May, 1962. He is a graduate of Ahmedu Bello University, Zaria.
Magu is a police officer with the rank of a police commisioner. He was appointed to head the EFCC as acting chairman on the 9th of November 2020 up till date.

Ibrahim Magu was nominated by President Mohammadu Buhari to the senate tobecome the Chairman of the EFCC, but the senate rejected his nomination and he has remained the acting Chairman since 2015.
